I purchased this star for my Christmas tree at the same time that I purchased my tree. The plastic holder cracked making it unusable. I was happy to buy another from this company. I will be more careful storing this one.

Great tree topper - make sure you have the right brand!
I love this star. Make sure you have a National Tree or this star will not work for you - there is a round plug that is specific to this brand. I have the color changing tree and the star changes right along with the rest of the light strands. The only thing that I don’t like is that the plastic feels a little flimsy. Considering it’s in storage for 11 months out of the year, I think it will be ok. I was just hoping for a higher quality since it’s not an inexpensive tree topper.

National Tree 11 in. Bethlehem Star Tree Topper (TA21-11L)
We purchased a new 9 ft Dunhill Fir, pre-lit with dual color LED lights (DUH-300D-90) by National Tree early in the 2016 season. After having it set up for a while, we decided that we wanted to replace our traditional angel with a lighted star, for better display in our window setting. We chose the 11 in. Bethlehem Star Tree Topper (model TA21-11L) by National Tree. This star uses the special National Tree connector (not a standard electrical plug) that is available at the top of our tree. The advantage of using the top connector is that the star flashes or changes color with the lights on the tree. The star is clear plastic, and the color changing LED lights display on both front and back sides of the star, making an excellent display in the room and at the window. As others have commented, the photo does not do it justice. The star is light weight, and so not a toy, but we do not find it more fragile than one would expect for a tree ornament, and appears more durable than many. Remember, it has to be light weight to go on the top of a tree. A long mounting stick inserts into the bottom of the star and can be zip tied to the tree to hold it in place. Very showy display.
